25cm x 20cm, in good vintage condition. Original Orrefors stamp intact. Stunning, heavy 2kg of thick glass. Examples can gown across design museums in Scandinavia. The series revolutionise homeware and colours and glass textures in the design world.
Iconic timeless design, part of our recent acquisition from Orrefors, Sweden, these bowls are ex museum display, examples can be viewed at the Swedish National Museum in Stockholm, extremely rare since their stamp still intact and in excellent condition.
Sven Palmqvist (1906–1984) was one of Sweden's leading glass artists during the 20th century. After his studies at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, he worked for the Orrefors glassworks between the 1940s and 1970s. Sven became well-known for his innovative glass techniques such as kraka, Ravenna, and fuga. His artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
