1980s mouth blown blue green studio glass decorative bowl by Japanese artist Setsuko Ogishi.
25cm diameter x 8cm, stunning colours and quality, organic shape and movement in the bowl, in good condition pontil make present.
Setsuko Ogishi is a Japanese born artist who moved to Australia in 1981. She had trained as a painter at the Kanazawa College of Arts, Japan, then studied glassblowing at the Jam Factory Craft Centre in Adelaide with the assistance of a grant from the Australia-Japan Foundation.
In 1987 Ogishi, with her husband Yutaka Mizuno, set up their first glass studio in Wollombi, NSW. They then moved and established the Ogishi Craft Centre in the Hunter Valley, NSW.
