Jerónimo Villa Rondo – Artist Bio

Jerónimo Villa Rondo is a ceramic artist from Mata Ortiz, Chihuahua, Mexico, a community renowned for its handcrafted pottery. His work is part of the Mata Ortiz pottery movement, a revival of the ancient Casas Grandes (Paquimé) ceramic traditions that flourished in northern Mexico centuries ago.

Villa Rondo creates hand-built vessels using traditional coil construction, burnishing, and outdoor firing techniques. His pottery often features finely detailed geometric designs and polished surfaces, reflecting both contemporary craftsmanship and the rich heritage of Mata Ortiz ceramics. Each piece is individually made and signed by the artist.
