16cm x 10cm, thick heavy hand made glass, minor scratches and wear consistent with age and use, overall in good condition. Signed at the base.

Nils Landberg was a Swedish glass designer. On completing his studies at the Industrial Design School in Gothenberg, he joined the engraving school at Orrefors and stayed on as a trainee designer. His early commercial work was restrained but in the late 1940s he developed the slender glass for which he is now celebrated. The Tulip series dates from 1953. Over theyears new shapes and colours were added regularly to the prototypes. Landberg remained at Orrefors until his reirement in 1972, each year refining his earlier designs and adding new ones. His works can be found in design museums all over the world.
