Authenticity & Trademark Notice

DESIGNER BRAND, AUTHENTICITY & TRADEMARK NOTICE

Gems et Cetera is an independent Australian retailer specialising in authentic vintage and pre-owned jewellery. We are not an authorised retailer of CHANEL and are not affiliated with, associated with, authorised by, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise commercially connected with CHANEL or any other designer brand represented in our collection.

Designer names and trademarks

All designer names, trademarks, logos, monograms and other identifying marks, including CHANEL®, remain the property of their respective owners. Designer and brand names are used by Gems et Cetera solely for the purpose of identifying and accurately describing genuine vintage and pre-owned goods offered for resale. Their use does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement or authorisation by the relevant brand.

Authenticity

Gems et Cetera represents an item as authentic only where we have reasonable grounds for doing so based on the information, provenance, markings, construction, materials and/or independent sources available to us. Our authenticity assessment is independent of the original brand.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, vintage and pre-owned designer items offered by Gems et Cetera have not been authenticated, inspected, certified, approved or endorsed by CHANEL or the relevant original manufacturer. CHANEL and other designer brands are not responsible for, and have not approved, any authenticity opinion or certificate issued by Gems et Cetera.

Where Gems et Cetera provides a Certificate of Authenticity, the certificate records Gems et Cetera’s independent assessment of the item and any relevant provenance or third-party information identified on the certificate. It is not a certificate issued by, authorised by, or on behalf of CHANEL or any other original brand.

Vintage and pre-owned condition

Vintage and pre-owned jewellery is not new and may display age-related wear, patina, surface marks, plating wear, repairs, replacement components or other characteristics consistent with its age and previous use. We endeavour to identify and describe material condition issues that are known to us. Photographs and product descriptions form part of the description of each item.

The age, collection, production period or attribution of a vintage item may in some cases be an estimate based on available evidence. Where information is an estimate or attribution rather than a documented fact, it should be understood accordingly.

Independent retailer

Gems et Cetera does not represent itself as an authorised dealer, agent, representative, boutique, service centre or authentication service of CHANEL or any other designer brand. Nothing on our website, social media, certificates, packaging, advertising or in-store materials should be interpreted as indicating such a relationship.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this notice or in Gems et Cetera’s terms and conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable Australian law.

This notice should be read together with the product description and any specific disclosures applying to an individual item.
