Medium: 23cm x 16cm, thick heavy hand made glass, minor scratches and wear consistent with age and use, overall in good condition. Signed at the base. 4kg of Swedish glass, just incredible.

Iconic timeless design, part of our recent acquisition from Orrefors, Sweden, these vases are ex museum display, examples can be viewed at the Swedish National Museum in Stockholm, extremely rare since they’re signed and in excellent condition.
Sven Palmqvist (1906–1984) was one of Sweden's leading glass artists during the 20th century. After his studies at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, he worked for the Orrefors glassworks between the 1940s and 1970s. Sven became well-known for his innovative glass techniques such as kraka, Ravenna, and fuga. His artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
